Before you is an updated, expanded reissue of the best-selling book 'Blockade Football. The History of Legendary Matches', which was released in 2020. This is the result of many years of work by the authors in searching for and analyzing printed materials, photographs, and film footage dedicated to football in blockaded Leningrad. Numerous archives, museums, libraries, and private collections in various cities in our country and abroad were involved. The research was greatly aided by relatives of blockade football players, as well as older generation fans who provided remarkably interesting materials. As a result, almost every word about blockade football was verified. And, most importantly, the mechanism of distortions to which the history of memorable matches was subjected over the decades was examined.
The book is of interest to a wide range of readers, it is filled with documents being published for the first time, and rare photographs. It is also attractive due to the description of unknown events that have not been covered in domestic literature.
