The debut novel by Maria Gurova, "Blackberry in the Valley. King under the Mountain," is part of the Sleeping King cycle. Together, Ilya and Tristan will go to the front and search for the legendary tomb. Can the boys, who grew up in a world without magic, awaken the king under the mountain? The Sleeping King cycle is a series of works with classic plots of European literature set in a universe reminiscent of our world in the 1920s-1940s. Maria Gurova is a graduate student at the Maxim Gorky Literary Institute, a director at the Rostov Theater of Poets, and the winner of the "Russian Rhymes" award in 2016. Her works have been published in collections by Eksmo-AST, the Literary Gazette, and magazines such as Yunost, Literary Education, Southern Star, Moscow, and others. She is the author of the "Front Brigade" project (reconstruction of propaganda brigades and theaters of the WWII era) and a collection of contemporary military-historical poetry and essays titled "Eternal World War."
