The three-volume collection of works by Bishop Veniamin includes diaries, sermons, letters, and memoirs. It most fully represents the theological research of this remarkable champion of piety, who endured severe persecutions, camps, and exiles. The shepherd, who suffered for his faith but remained unbroken in spirit, left behind writings that reveal moral and Christian views dedicated to Divine love, lectures on liturgics, and articles on various aspects of church life. In 1999, the diaries and sermons of Bishop Veniamin were published by the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra. Over the years, new materials have emerged, clarifying the facts of the bishop's biography, previously unknown letters have been discovered, and his unpublished works were found in the Lavra archives. All of this prompted the preparation of an expanded and supplemented edition of Bishop Veniamin's works, which, it is believed, will attract the attention not only of theologians but also a wide range of readers interested in the history of the Church and the fates of clergy who labored in the field of pastoral care during times of persecution and repression.
