Biometric systems

A review of the ideas, methods and means used in the identification and verification systems of a person’s personality based on his biometric characteristics. The state and development trends of various biometric technologies are analyzed. Biometric systems are discussed in detail that use information about fingerprints, hand geometry, faces and rainbow eyes. Digital image processing elements are presented most often used in various biometric technologies, basic methods of processing the source data in the application to person recognition systems, as well as the construction methods (synthesis, analysis and implementation) of people recognition systems by their persons. Dictionary of terms, extensive bibliography and addresses of the most important Internet sites on biometric technologies are given.
