Archbishop Seraphim (1881-1950) is an example of a rare and fortunate combination of erudition and humility, simplicity and deep theological knowledge. Saint Seraphim considered it his duty to always defend the sanctity of Orthodoxy in our corrupt and heretical age. Since the death of Archbishop Seraphim (February 26), his tomb in the Russian church of St. Nicholas in Sofia has been an unceasing source of miracles. Just as in life, even after death, Lord Seraphim continues to mercifully help those who seek his intercessory prayers.
