Princess Zinaida Alexandrovna Volkonskaya (French La Princesse Zenaide Wolkonsky), nee Princess Beloselskaya (1789 Dresden - 1862, Rome) - mistress of the literary salon, writer, poetess, singer, composer, friend of Pushkin. Born in the family of Prince Alexander Mikhailovich Beloselsky-Belozersky. In 1808, being maids of honor, she consisted of Queen Louise Prussian. Having married the ranger, Prince Nikita Grigoryevich Volkonsky, she, together with her husband and her son Alexander, accompanied Alexander I during his foreign campaigns. The Moscow House of Z. A. Volkonskaya on Tverskaya Street, although rebuilt, exists and is known under the old name "Eliseevsky store". Many famous writers gathered in her salon: Pushkin, Baratynsky, Mitskevich, Vyazemsky. In 1828, Volkonskaya left for Rome, where she spent the rest of her life.
