To the 240th anniversary of the city of Stavropol. This book is the result of in-depth study of the stages of formation, development, heyday of the city of Stavropol. The reconstruction of the destinies and the affairs of people who turned the Stavropol into the military outpost of the south of Russia, the administrative and trade center of the ancestral center, the Center for Culture, Education, Orthodoxy with their labor and talents.
The book uses photographs from the personal archive of the author, as well as the funds of the State Budgetary Institution of Culture of the Stavropol Territory "Stavropol State Historical and Cultural and Natural-Landscape-Reserve named after G.N. Porriteleva and G.K. Law ".
Each article is a unique story about the life and activities of people who have made a significant contribution to the annals of the city. Among them are such famous personalities as: the first governor N.E. Nikiforaki, the Blessed Metropolitan Agafodor, the notary and vowel of the City Duma Georgy Konstantinovich Law, Metropolitan Anthony, the outstanding artist V.Ya Gribachev, the owner of the botanical garden V.V. Skripchinsky, and many others whose activities, the modern Stavropol owes their cultural and historical place in the history of Russia
