Since time immemorial, Germany has been fragmented into many principalities, kingdoms and individual cities. In the 19th century, a national unity was a general dream, which everyone spoke of - from kings and princes to poets and clergymen. In 1861, Wilhelm I became the king of Prussia. He ascended the throne at 64, and the people took him as the "father of the nation". His greatest wisdom was the appointment of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. Wilhelm I entrusted the fate of Prussia and was not mistaken in his choice. For almost 30 years, Bismarck created a state that was not in the state, which had to play a most important role in the history of the twentieth century. This was his main goal in life.
