In monographs based on the materials of the seventeen archives of the five countries for the first time, the military-political biography of one of the most controversial figures of the Civil War in Russia and the Red Military Specialist Yakov Aleksandrovich Slashchev-Krymsky (1885-1929) is first reconstructed in detail.
Slashchev was a guards officer, a graduate of the Imperial Nikolaev Military Academy, the hero of the First World War, a talented military leader. During the Civil War, he commanded a brigade, division and corps with which he acted in the North Caucasus, in Crimea and Ukraine. He became a general at 33. He gained the greatest fame as the head of the Crimea from the Reds in early 1920. The successful defense of the peninsula allowed Bely to stay in European Russia until November 1920, which for several months extended the civil war in the south of the country. Subsequent conflict with General P.N. Wrangel and dismissal in the court of honor from the Russian army led to the return of Slashchev from emigration to Soviet Russia.
The book analyzes the service experience and vital strategies of Slashchev both during the service in the Old Army and during the civil war, when he collaborated both with red and white, the most likely motives for his return to Russia were reconstructed, and he was investigated Activities in Soviet Russia and the USSR.
