The monograph is dedicated to the history of the famous tea -trader, public figure and philanthropist V.Ya. Vysotsky. The partnership of tea trade, founded by him "V. Vysotsky and Co. "At the beginning of the 20th century, it became one of the leaders of the industry, and Vysotsky’s tea is practically the only tea brand of Russian origin, which has been leading to this day, leading his continuous history of more than one and a half centuries. Representatives of several generations of this family, closely related to outstanding figures of politics and culture, were involved in both the management of large business, and in large -scale events of Russian and world history, including participation in terrorist activities, revolutionary events of 1917, the life of the Russian foreign countries. The book traces the process of integrating ethnic Jews into the Russian -speaking environment with an attempt to preserve national and confessional identity. A significant amount of materials, especially related to the period after 1920, is published for the first time. The book is intended for a wide range of readers interested in history, interethnic and interfaith relations, tea drinking traditions and the specifics of tea trade.
