In the 1970s, Viktor Orekhov was an officer of the fifth department of the KGB, who was persecuted by dissidents. However, a personal acquaintance with some of the dissenters and the reading of books prohibited in the USSR over time gave rise to doubts about the criminal nature of the activities of these people. At some point, he began to secretly and anonymously warn dissidents about the upcoming searches and arrests. Orekhov over time was arrested and sentenced by the military tribunal to imprisonment. Ten years after leaving the camp, he was forced to emigrate to the United States, and his name and fate were forgotten for a long time in our country. Years later, the author of the book, Nicolas Sorlo, managed to find Viktor Orekhov in the United States, meet him and take an interview series from him. They formed the basis of the readers of the exciting, semi -detective documentary narrative about one of the little -known pages of the Soviet past.
