The Russian revolutionary Vera Figner (1852-1942) passed through a twenty-year-old single conclusion in the Shlisselburg hard labor prison, was one of the leaders of the “people"s will”, participated in the preparation of three attempts on Alexander II (in the USSR she was assigned a personal pension) and survived until the ninety years. The study of the candidate of historical sciences Andrei Voronikhin is the first scientific biography of Figner in Russia. This biography, based on a wide range of archival sources, is given in the context of complex socio -political processes and touches on important problems of the history of Russia in the second half of the XIX - early XX century. Voronikhin not only reconstructed the era of the tragic confrontation of revolutionaries-people"s and authorities, but also created a bright portrait gallery of contemporaries of this outstanding woman
