Twice Hero of the Soviet Union Marshal of the Soviet Union Vasily Ivanovich Chuikov belongs to the glorious cohort of the brilliant military leaders and generals of the Great Patriotic War. In the days of the Battle of Stalingrad, especially in the defense of Stalingrad, the name of Chuykov and fighters of his 62nd army became a symbol of the indestructible Russian spirit, evidence of stamina, courage, heroism and the forces of our people. For Nazi strategists, the origins of such a phenomenon remained unsolved. And Chuikov and his army, having survived, went on, freeing Donbass, Ukraine, Poland from fascist evil spirits, and reached Berlin. In the post -war and subsequent years, Vasily Ivanovich gave himself everything without a trace of serving the Fatherland, whose patriot he remained until the end of his life
