Three heroes of this book, it would seem, unites only one thing: at one time they were famous Soviet poets. Everything else is origin, creative manner, fate is different. Anatoly Mariengof (1897-1962) after a short take-off departed from poetry, remaining in the history of literature primarily as a friend of Yesenin and the author of memoir prose. Boris Kornilov (1907-1938) was torn from literary life and died during the years of repression. Vladimir Lugovskaya (1901-1957) after loud and deserved glory, he survived a difficult creative and human crisis, which was able to overcome only at the sunset of life. At the same time, the author of the book, the famous writer Zakhar Prilepin, sees the main thing in the biographies of such unlike poets that they connect them: they were all witnesses to the great and tragic events of Russian history of the twentieth century. The author completes the biography of each hero with a selection of selected works. The thinking reader will undoubtedly note how modern verses of these poets are even highly sounding today
