The name of the artist Nikolai Vasilievich Remizov (1887-1975), known under the pseudonym of the re-mi, thundered throughout Russia until 1917. After a forced departure from the country, with his talent he won recognition in America, while in his homeland he was forgotten for a century.
The book introduces the reader to the biography and works of brilliant graphics, cartoonist, painter, theater decorator and interior designer. A rich illustrative series of publications includes Remizov’s graphic and picturesque works, rare photos and documents from the funds of foreign and Russian archives, museums and private collections. A significant part of the materials is provided by the archive of the University of South California (Los Angeles) Many works are published for the first time.
