Cultural life in the Pechora Territory in the 1920-1930s was distinguished by national originality and intensity. The Petsersky district, in which 36 thousand indigenous people lived, being divorced from Russia and included in the Estonia in accordance with the Yuryevsky (Tartu) agreement of 1920, became a place of attraction for many emigrants from Russia, and especially the Pskov. Many participants in the White Movement connected their fate with this solely accessible corner of the original Russian land and, despite material and everyday difficulties, found their place in the cultural life of the region
