A significant part of the soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War seemed to die twice: they were not buried and remained lying where they were killed. Until the 1980s, the Soviet state did not recognize the fact of the existence of these dead souls, and ordinary citizens were engaged in the reburial of the fallen - despite the fact that their activities were prohibited. Only those who are called by search engines today understood that the soldiers forgotten by all need care and memory from the alive: so they could return to our world by heroes, and not ethereal ghosts. The dead do not bury the dead. This work had to be taken to very specific people, and their memory is no less important than the memory of veterans and other witnesses of war. This publication is the only collection of oral memoirs of those who devoted their whole lives to the search and reburial of Soviet soldiers
