The new book by Genna Sosonko, the third in the series of his works about prominent chess players (after the books “David Seventh” about Bronstein and “Knowing Harmony” about the meaning), is dedicated to the fate of the defector Viktor Lvovich Korichny - one of the most famous grandmasters of the 20th century. His struggle with Karpov, their match in Bagios (1978), by the intensity of chess and political passions, can be compared, perhaps, only with the confrontation of Spassky - Fisher.
The author knew Koruchny closely, worked with him as a second, met in tournaments and in a home environment. Sosonko describes the vicissitudes of the life path of his hero with his characteristic brilliance.
