The new monograph by Alissa Dinega Gillespi, an American specialist in Russian literature, professor Bowdin College (USA), is devoted to the features of the “poetic imagination” by A. S. Pushkin, who determines the unique nature of his artistic world, which is characterized by ambivalence and at the same time harmonious. The ambivalence of the artistic world is manifested at the most diverse structural levels of the organization of Pushkin’s works - linguistic, plot, figurative, etc. - determining the ambiguity, the multidimensionality of their ethical and aesthetic meaning. The complex organism arising as a result, the unity of which is maintained, including with roll calls of images - “doubles” and the corresponding intertextual relationships, reflects the specifics of Pushkin’s “poetic imagination” and the performance of his work.
This book, which has absorbed the results of many years of research, is published in Russian for the first time, in an authorized translation by O. A. Yakimenko
