The book is a documentary chronicle, telling in detail the four years spent by Russian poet Nikolai Gumilev on the fronts of the First World War. The narrative based on numerous, often unique, documents from domestic and foreign archives, an essential part of which is published for the first time, literally by days to recreate the poorly studied military biography of an outstanding poet, covers and clarifies its episodes in a new way. The author traced the entire front-line path of Gumilyov-the first year of the war spent on the fronts of Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Austria-Hungary and Belarus, consisting of the Ulan regiment, service in the Hussar regiment in Latvia, and then on the expeditionary building in 1917-1918 in England and in England and in England and in England and in France.
This is one of the last books that Stanislav Stefanovich Lesnevsky prepared for several years, but did not manage to publish. He was gone on January 18, 2014. But this book should be seen by all those who are interested in Russian history, Russian literature and Nikolai Gumilyov.
The publication is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War
