The peaks of the Ural science

But still he will ask: why are the "peaks" declared here these, and not other scientists? And he will call, not even straining the memory, at least a dozen other names, commensurate with the scale of the names presented here.
You can simply refer to the author’s right to choose himself, who to write about, although - why is it "possible", if I took advantage of this right? But ready to explain - why.
First of all, of many scientists who are rightfully proud of the science of the Urals, I chose those with whom, by the favor of fate, I personally had a chance to communicate. I hope that the reader who moves beyond this page will understand why it was so important for me. And the second reason: even though my book is not about science, but about scientists, to give in it some idea of what her heroes in their laboratories are doing, of course, was necessary. And if so, then I found the resonant to present scientists from different specialties.
Here, having not yet crossed the threshold of the plot, I want to express sincere gratitude to an outstanding engineer, organizer of production and philanthropist Nikolai Ivanovich Timofeev, with the participation of which the plan of the book was born. Thanks to the support of Nikolai Ivanovich and the scientific and cultural fund created by him, the plan began to embody in the text.
I am also sincerely grateful to Sergey Grigoryevich Novikov, a wonderful artist "Lights" artist: photographs of his work are not just illustrations, but a true decoration of the publication.
