By the 130th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian artist Mikhail Alexandrovich Chekhov (1891-1955), the volume of his memoirs is published. A student of K. S. Stanislavsky, he created his own school of acting. In 1922 he became at the head of the first studio of the Moscow Art Theater, in 1924 transformed in the Moscow Art Theater 2nd. In 1928, not accepting revolutionary changes in his homeland, Chekhov decided not to return to the USSR from foreign tour. Since 1939, he lived in the USA. The most famous Hollywood stars studied him - Marilyn Monroe, Clint Eastwood, Yul Brinner, Anthony Quinn and many others. Almost until the mid-1980s, the name of the great artist was devoted to oblivion in their homeland. But since the beginning of the 1990s in Russia, England, the USA, France, Germany, international workshops of Mikhail Chekhov are regularly organized with the participation of Russian artists, directors and teachers.
