Gustav Gusak is the last communist president of Czechoslovakia. The book shows his life path, starting from childhood and ending with care. The monograph is based on archival materials, including from the personal archive of its author, Soviet (Russian) and Czechoslovak (Czech and Slovak) documentary publications, including speeches and articles by G. Gusak, as well as on the well -known author of the Russian, Czech and Slovak literature. All stages of the biography of G. Gusak are considered: youth, study, entry into the Communist Party, participation in the Slovak national uprising, the accusation of the Slovak bourgeois nationalism, rehabilitation and return to politics, participation in the development of the Law on federalization of the Czechoslovak republic, attitude to the events of Augustus 1968 and participation in Moscow negotiations on the normalization of the situation in Czechoslovakia, activities at the posts of the head of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, and then the President of Czechoslovakia, retired and life after it
