Two fateful duels, which claimed the lives of the greatest Russian poets Pushkin and Lermontov and pretensely excite the hearts of not only historians of literature, but also all lovers of Russian literature. Not all circumstances of these fights have been thoroughly studied, especially the duel Lermontov and Martynov raises many questions. Each of the poets had many influential enemies, each enjoyed the glory of free -lover and outrageous of public peace, each of them, in different years, caused the discontent of the emperor and his environment. These circumstances sometimes push modern biographers on the version of Masonic or court conspiracies, the purpose of which was to kill Pushkin and Lermontov.
