Despite the fact that the philosophical ideas of Francis Bacon are well studied and described, his life path in literature is given little attention. The monograph by I. S. Dmitrieva, the first biography of F. Bacon in Russian, is written on the basis of archival materials and a wide range of primary sources. The life of the hero of the book is represented in the context of the complex, filled with dramatic events of the era in the history of England in the second half of the XVI - early XVII centuries. One of the most gifted people of his time, Francis Bacon gave a lot of effort and time not only of philosophy, but also active political activity. In the book, he appears in various hypostases - a philosopher, lawyer, politics, and court. The author concerns in detail the little-studied, surrounded by numerous myths of the history of the impeachment of F. Bacon, who at the top of his political career, the post of Lord Chancellor of England and accused in 1621 of corruption.
