The collection of articles is dedicated to the fate and scientific biography of the outstanding Russian scientist Vladimir Nikolayevich Beneyshevich (1874–1938) This book summarizes the many years of work of the author to identify and study archival materials related to V. N. Beneyshevich and his family. Both documents reflecting the life path of the scientist and his scientific works, including unpublished ones, are investigated. The essays collected in the book fully represent the whole variety of scientific interests of V. N. Beneyshevich-visant historian, lawyer, philologist and paleographer. The book gives an exhaustive idea of his personality and relationships with contemporaries, at the same time showing the complex fate of scientists in Russia in the first half of the 20th century.
The book is intended for Byzantines, historians of law, as well as for experts in the history of Russia of the 20th century, historiography and science.
