The book of the Department of Russian and World Literature of the Gomel State University named after F. Skorina, professor of the Academy of Military Sciences of the Russian Federation Ivan Afanasyev is devoted to the fate of the legendary Soviet military commander Alexander Lizyukov and gives an answer to the question of the genuine culprits of his death in July 1942 under Voronezh. The historical and literary investigation undertaken by the author restored the true picture of the most important front-line events in the fate of Lizyukov, in which such historical figures as Stalin, Zhukov, Katukov, Vlasov traitor and many others were involved. Being the grandson of Lizyukov’s nephew, Ivan Afanasyev relies on unique evidence from the family archive, confirmed by many documents, which the reader of the book will learn about for the first time
