General P.G. Kurlov (1860-1923)-a bright figure of Russian history of the end of the XIX-early XX century, a military and statesman, Kiev and Minsk governor, comrade of the Minister of Internal Affairs, the main leadership of a separate corps of the gendarmes, which went from an ordinary lieutenant, clothed with trust. the king, and then - an ordinary refugee, forced to end life in exile. His memoirs were recognized as such a valuable historical document that they were transferred from German into Russian and published back in 1923, immediately after the exit in Berlin
