In November 1850, the Frenchwoman, with whom Alexander Vasilievich Sukhovo-Kobylin (1817–1903) lived eight years in a secret love affair, finded brutally killed in the snowdrifts of the Khodynsky field near Moscow. A criminal investigation begins, and evidence indicates him - a young and rich master, a famous aristocrat, player and Donjuan, the future author of the “Wedding of Krechinsky”, “Deeds” and “Death of Tarelkin”, whose work developed under the direct and hidden influence of the accusation of a serious crime .
