For the first time, the collection is published in the funds of the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art (RGALI) Documents about the First World War - the Great War in the reception of contemporaries: diaries and memoirs of participants in hostilities - writer Colonel F. F. Tyutchev, theatrical Theatmer of the lieutenant D. I. Leshkov , the artist of Cornet M. S. Potekhin, sisters of mercy E.P. Bagration and M. I. Sea Okhotina, soldiers of the Russian army, as well as witnesses of events - figures of domestic culture (actors, artists, writers) The application publishes letters from the front about the activities of charitable organizations addressed to the famous actresses M. G. Savina, E. D. Turchaninova and A. A. Zaborochkina, a report on the trip of the team of actors with the chef performances in 1917 to the Caucasian Front the text of the documents is reproduced by autographs. The publication is equipped with a scientific commentary and archaeographic notes, an indicator of names.
The book is illustrated by documents and photographs from the funds of RGALI, the Yalta historical and literary museum, the Tretyakov Gallery.
