The manual discusses the conditions of the occurrence and subsequent formation of national democratic traditions in Russia, the features of their institutionalization at different stages of domestic history: during the period of domestic statehood, reforms of Ivan the Terrible, Peter II, the second half of the 19th century, three Russian revolutions. Patterns in the development of relations between the authorities and society throughout pre -revolutionary Russian history are shown. Particular attention is paid to the economic and legal foundations of the activities of various democratic institutions, such as community, artel, cooperation, local, professional and industrial self -government bodies. The application gives articles by the author on the problems of the history of civilian institutes during the Russian Revolution of 1917 and other close topics.
