In the new book from the series “New sources on the history of Russia. Rossica Inedita ”presents an previously unknown complex of letters, diary entries and notes of the second-major of the Shirvan regiment Alexei Ivanovich Rzhevsky for 1755–1759. Rzhevsky’s documents reflect officer life and official realities in the rear of the Russian Army during the Seven Years War, the vast social contacts of the author and his relations with relatives. Unique for this time is a detailed description of Rzhevsky of its many diseases and methods of their (in itself) treatment, as well as emotional states and love adventures.
The book is addressed to both historians and culturalists and a wide circle of readers.
