The book is a continuation of the two earlier books by K. I. Finkelstein dedicated to the gymnasium: "Imperial Nikolaev Tsarskoye Selo gymnasium" (2008) and "Imperial Nikolaev Tsarskoye Selo gymnasium. Pupils" (2009) For 7 years, the author studied more than 500 archival affairs (12,000 more than sheets of historical documents) The result was this book, including biographies of 180 teachers who served in the gymnasium for its almost 50-year history (1870-1918) The vast majority of biographies have never been published before. This is a memory book, our tribute to the teachers of the past. Thanks to the selfless service of teachers of the Nikolaev gymnasium, so many outstanding people came out of its walls who made a significant contribution to the development of science, culture, education, industry, and military affairs not only in Russia, but also abroad. The publication has been dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the founding of the gymnasium, the 165th anniversary of the birth of its most famous PET Director I.F. Annensky and the 5th anniversary of the opening of the Museum of the Nikolaev gymnasium (GBU to the Center for Children and Youth Technical Creativity and Information technology of the Pushkin district of St. Petersburg)
