The book is dedicated to the biography of the famous prince-warrior Svyatoslav, who lived in the X century. “I want to go to you”, “we don’t shame the Russian land”, “the dead are not having a shame” - all these textbooks, from the school bench, the phrases familiar to us belong to him, easy to rise, fast, “like a parduce” who does not know fatigue and despises Peace and Negro the Russian prince, the winner of the Khazar and the conqueror of Bulgaria, the hero of the largest and most bloody from the Russian-Byzantine wars. Svyatoslav is one of the most striking and at the same time conflicting figures of our initial history. Having left Kyiv for the goal that turned out to be ghostly, he brought to the Balkans the many thousandth army of the Rus, most of the heads in battles with the Byzantines and Pechenegs. The fate of Svyatoslav himself turned out to be tragic, from the skull of which the Pechenegs made a ritual bowl. The author of the book offers readers his vision of the personality of the prince and his view of the history of Russia of that distant time - a look, which is largely different from the traditional one.
