From August 1923 to 1927, an employee of the apparatus of the Central Committee of the All -Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks Boris Bazhanov served as an assistant for the Politburo and Secretary of the Politburo. Thanks to his official position, he witnessed the struggle for power between Stalin, Trotsky and Zinoviev after Lenin’s departure and after his death. He could also see how personal and political relations of the leaders of the USSR party elite were formed: Stalin, Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kamenev, Bukharin, Rykov, Molotov, Berries and others. In January 1928, disappointed in the ideas of communism, Boris Bazhanov fled to the west, where in 1930 he published his memoirs "Memoirs of the former secretary of Stalin"
