In the 70s of the last century, the USSR Ministry of Defense decided on an experiment: for the first time, not only officers, but also boys from civilian youth, Suvorov schools, and troops were recruited for training at military academies. The requirements were very high, the selection was hard. At the Military Academy. F. E. Dzerzhinsky, the best according to the results of the exams was selected in the experimental ballistic department. All twenty-one graduates of this department received a brilliant education, became highly qualified specialists in ballistics of strategic missiles and the theory of spacecraft, have served in troops, research institutes, at testing training grounds, and military departments of universities. More than half a century has passed. This book contains their memories. Their eyes are the fate of Russia, because each of them was in an extremely important place for the country"s defense capacity.
