This book is the second in the copyright liter of "faces of Russia" of the journalist and prose writer Lyudmila Altunina, telling about ordinary, so -called ordinary Russian people (the first book "Gull from the other world: stories, novels, essays , essays" came out in Moscow, in 2019) In different time stages, in different situations, their fate and characters are manifested. Based on documentary and literary sources, memories of children and fellow soldiers of the legendary commander S.F. Kutepova, on his own journalistic research, the author talks about the feat of our heroic fellow countryman, about the episodes of his life, adding new strokes to his portrait - an extraordinary personality. The book also contains the memoirs of Yu.M. Romanova, retired Air Force Colonel, son of Major General M.T. Romanova, commander of the 172nd Infantry Division, called Tula. It was formed mainly from warriors living in the areas of the Tula region. The 388th Infantry Regiment under the command of Colonel S.F. Kutepova, whose unbending image served as the prototype of General Serpilin in the trilogy about the war K.M. Simonova "live and dead".
This (second) publication is significantly expanded and supplemented by applications to it.
The book is addressed to a wide circle of readers and, above all, those young, who are not indifferent to the past of their people, whose best sons are glorious examples of resistance, courage and patriotism. It can serve as additional local history material for students and schoolchildren studying the history of their native Fatherland, the period of the Great Patriotic War.
