The memories presented in the book belong to the pen of an undeservedly forgotten prominent statesman of the Russian Empire. Prince Vsevolod Nikolaevich Shakhovskaya from February 1915 to February 1917 served as Minister of Trade and Industry. In memoirs, he lively and meaningfully, he describes his studies at the Maritime School and further career - service in the Guards Crew, the Ministry of Finance, the Main Department of Trade and Ports, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Railways.
