The publication first publishes the diary of S. I. Turgenev (1792-1827), the younger brother of Alexander and Nikolai Turgenevs, who left a noticeable mark in Russian history and culture. This diary contains travel entries during the trip of S. I. Turgenev to Holland, where he went in 1811, through Hamburg, when he was his student at the University of Gettingen. His trip coincided with the first arrival in Amsterdam Napoleon, as well as with the tour of famous French actors, dedicated to this visit, led by the legendary F.-J. Talma. Both events are described in detail and vividly described in a diary containing a lot of vivid observations related to the daily life of Hamburg and Holland during the period of French rule, which makes this unique document an important source of information about the cultural, political and domestic situation of those years. In addition to the diary, some papers of S. I. Turgenev are published, related to this trip.
