The book is dedicated to the history of Russian Orthodox pilgrimage and presence on the Holy Land from the 12th century to our time.
It tells about the Russian people who worked on the Holy Land: about the bishop of Porfiria (Assumption) and the Holy Feofan Recluse, about. Antonin (Kapustin) and about. Leonide (Sentsov), about. Cyprian (Kern), Metropolitan of Anastasia (Gribanovsky), Igumenye Tamara (Bagration-Maurs), Igumenia George (Shchukina) and many others. About pilgrims visiting the Holy Land, among whom were St. John of Kronstadt, future new martyrs and confessors Bishop Victor (Ostrovidov), Archpriest Alexander Glagolev, artist I.E. Repin, writer I. A. Bunin and others.
The author of the book - Deacon Alexander Zanemonets - lives in Jerusalem. He teaches at various Israeli universities, and is also engaged in organizing and accompanying pilgrimage groups
