The monograph is devoted to the urgent scientific problem - the relations of Soviet Russia and the great powers of the West after October 1917, when the Russian issue, which invariably attracted close attention of the leaders of European countries, received special acuteness. The problems of geopolitics raised by the author at the beginning of the XX century. We have not lost their severity in our time. The monograph traces the influence of the domestic political development of Soviet Russia on the formation of foreign policy in the initial period of its existence. On the basis of a wide and diverse source base, including both archival and published documents, as well as the values of the memoirs for the first time introduced into the scientific circulation, the book revealed new aspects of the diplomatic background of the intervention of the Entente countries, it was shown that they knew in the world about what was happening in that The era in Russia and how it reacted to these events. The author sought to determine the championship of one of the two main directions in the foreign policy of Soviet Russia: the struggle for the creation of favorable international conditions for the development of the state and promoting the world revolutionary process, to investigate the search by the country"s leaders of opportunities for its geopolitical statement
