The collection is dedicated to Archpriest Sergius Gakkel (1931-2005), a close friend of Metropolitan Anthony of Sorozhsky - a writer, historian, literary critic, journalist, artist. The book contains the memoirs of colleagues, associates, friends, students and parishioners about. Sergius: poet Olga Sedakova, composer Sir John Tavern, literary critic Tatyana Victorova, religious scholar Roger Homan, journalist Maria Karp, artist Elena Kamburova and others. The idea of the book belongs to producer Faina Yanova, who had been working together with Fr. Sergius in the religious version of the Russian BBC service. The publication is addressed to religious scholars, historians, literary critics, as well as all those interested in the fate of Russian emigration and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church abroad
