The book of the famous historian of literature A. N. Nikolyukin is devoted to the life and work of the wonderful Russian writer and philosopher Vasily Vasilyevich Rozanov. For the first time, it is holistically represented by Rozanov’s formation as a deeply original writer and thinker, gives a characterization of all his significant works. The author considers the work of Rozanov in the context of the sharp ideological disputes of the turn of the XIX - XX centuries, in which the hero of the book took a living part. The study is based on many archival documents, memoirs, letters, but primarily on the vast literary heritage of Rozanov himself, in the study and publication of which A. N. Nikolyukin made a great contribution
