The long-awaited autobiography of one of the most respected and revered vocalists of Havi-metal. The fascinating life story of the frontman of three legendary groups - Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio!
Ronnie James Dio began to write an autobiography a few years before he was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2009. In 2010, the legendary musician was gone. He recalls a delightful life and events that made his hometown in the northern part of New York to the largest concert venues around the world, including the arena, which became the top of success-Madison Square Garden. It is here that this book begins and ends. To complete the work on the book, Wendy (Widow of Ronnie) finalized the unfinished sections and added some of the own observations received for several decades of marriage with Ronnie.
Journalist Mick Wall took countless times from Dio interviews, was repeatedly visiting and until the last days remained a friend of Ronnie. Wendy asked Mick Wallla to add details and finalize the manuscript. At the same time, the book preserves a relaxed colloquial tone, conveying Ronnie"s communication to the manner of communication.

In the book, he reflects on the dream achieved and recalls the key aspects that led to its performance:
• A gang of close friends who introduced Ronnie to music, performances at parties, in bars and clubs,
• Ronnie’s decision to stand up for a microphone that changed the singer’s life, luck, which led the young musician to the birth of Rainbow and a productive, but complex cooperation with Richie Blackmore,
• A random meeting with Tony Aimmy, thanks to which Ronnie became the second vocalist of Black Sabbath, after which the group gained a second respiration, having achieved great success,
• The surprisingly touching story of the appearance of the devilish ox, the eternal symbol of Havi-Metal.

Dio talks about a wedding with Wendy, who brought stability to his life, huge debts, in which they together climbed to take a chance and create the most successful project in the career of Ronnie ... their own group, Dio.
Everything is described sincerely and in detail, starting with a quarrel with Blackmore and ending with drugs that overshadowed the resurrection of Black Sabbath, by personality conflicts, which were not bored with nerves of each of the three groups. “Rainbow in the Dark” is a sincere, amazing, often hilarious, and sometimes sad testimony of devotion and ambitions, filled with touching stories about youth and glorious 80s.

Mick Wall is a leading music journalist and biographer in the world of rock music. The author of the bestsellers Metallica. Extreme biography of the group ”,“ AC/DC. In hell I like more, ”“ Black Sabbath. Welcome to the underworld! ” And The last giants. The full story of Guns N ’Roses
