Richard Sorge is one of the most romantic figures in the world of intelligence. A bright passionary, handsome, a lover of wine and women, he became one of the prototypes of James Bond. In general, legends about him go much more than the specific data is known. It is said that it was he from distant Japan that was the first to report to Moscow about the date of attack on the USSR, about the composition and number of Nazi forces, and outlined the general scheme of the Wehrmacht’s military plan. Is it true or not? Who is he really? An extraordinary intelligence officer or a regular resident? A person undeservedly marked by Khrushchev, or really has exceptional merits to the Fatherland? Soviet patriot or double agent? Whose intelligence did he work for? Wasing anti -Stalinist conspiracies? Why did they learn about Richard Sorge in the USSR only in 1964 and why did they know about him?
