This book first publishes autobiographical texts of a sociologist, culturalist and ethnopsychologist Valentina Fedorovna Chesnokova. The most famous book, about the Russian national character, she published under the pseudonym Ksenia Kasyanov. Chesnokova memoirs are a unique combination of an autobiographical narrative in Russian literature with a comprehension of their experience and the life of Soviet society of the second half of the twentieth century in terms of sociological theory. The publication is accompanied by a detailed preface describing the role of V.F. Chesnokova in the history of domestic social thought.
