The textbook is devoted to the little -known page of the history of the Civil War in Russia - the phenomenon of the anti -Bolshevik peasant rebel movement. On its pages, its reasons, scale, regional features are revealed, the thesis about the most important role of the peasantry and the peasant movement in the victory of the Bolsheviks in the Civil War is justified. The manual covers such aspects of the problem as: slogans and the program of the peasant movement, the influence of Socialist -Revolutionaries, anarchists, white movement on it, the leaders of the peasant rebel, the Cossacks in the Civil War, etc.
The textbook is intended for undergraduates studying the history of Russia of the period of the Great Russian Revolution and the Civil War, as well as the agrarian history of Russia and its Soviet period as a whole.
The source base of benefits is the documents of central and local archives, as well as published materials studied by the author in the framework of work on the international project of the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences “Peasant Revolution in Russia” and a doctoral dissertation on the “Peasant movement in the Volga region in 1918 - 1922.
