Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898) was, of course, one of the most outstanding statesmen in world history. Of great interest is, however, not only his activities as the head of the Prussian (and then German) government, but also the question of how he managed to break through to the heights of power. It seemed that he had no chance: a poor, not too noble, who did not want to make a career in public service and retired to his small estate, by the age of thirty he looked like a perfect type of loser disappointed in life. However, the next two decades of his life were filled with heavy, tense, abounded in dramatic turns, but ultimately an extremely successful struggle for power. What helped him defeat this struggle? This book is devoted to the answer to this question
