The attention of readers is offered a book written by two famous Soviet historians and dedicated to Omar Hayama - an outstanding Persian mathematics, astronomer, philosopher and poet. The young years of the scientist’s life, the years of his training and wanderings in the countries of the medieval East are described. It is described about his works and achievements in the field of algebra, geometry and theory of numbers, including the first steps taken by him and became the prerequisites for the opening of non -Euclidean geometry in the 19th century, about the leadership of the observatory in Isfhan and the development of a solar calendar.
