In 2010, the first collection of memoirs of participants in the Novgorod archaeological expedition was published. Over the past decade, another 14 people shared their memories. Among the 36 authors of the second edition, the participants of NEE of almost every decade of its history-from the 1930s to the 2000s. These memories, written by people of different generations, are a kind of annals of the expedition. They tell about difficult work at the excavation, about incredible discoveries, about fascinating excursions and lectures, about the democratic atmosphere reigning in NaE thanks to its leaders, about fun holidays and draws and much more.
In addition to memoirs, the book for the first time published reviews of the guests of NEE, among which the first was the rector of Moscow State University (1951-1973) I. G. Petrovsky. At the end of the book, a reproduction of the picture is placed the life of the Novgorod archaeological expedition. The year 1976 and its detailed description.
The collection will be interesting to everyone who is fond of archeology and its history, who wants to penetrate the secrets of the profession of an archaeologist.
2nd edition, corrected and supplemented
